Our Pods

Our pods are BPI certified to break down in the industrial composting facility in as little as 17 days. There is no need to separate the lid, the coffee grounds and the capsule. The entire pod can be disposed of in the green bin where compostable packaging is accepted. In addition to the environmental considerations, our pods are designed to hold more coffee, and provide better brewing performance and taste than other pods on the market.

The term compostable describes a material that disintegrates and biodegrades under specific conditions. Composting is endlessly circular and transitioning to a circular economy is key to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Unlike compostable materials, biodegradable materials may include petroleum-based polymers that can leave behind microplastics which pollute the environment. Although advertised as sustainable, recyclable plastic pods do not solve the problem. Despite our efforts, only 5% of plastic is recycled, while 95% ends up in our land and oceans.
